The Briarlake spelling bee went for 13 rounds before entering the final round. The last 2 participants spelled over 20 words before the 1st place winner was determined.

Congratulations to our Briarlake 2014 Spelling Bee champion, Mary (5th Grade). Also congratulations to our 1st runner up, Alishan (4th Grade).

Mary will continue on to the Dekalb County School District spelling bee where she will compete against the winners from all participating schools. In her absence, Alishan will represent Briarlake.
